Yes. The test cards are consumables designed for use with the Pluslife Handyvet Mini Dock — the Integrated Nucleic Acid Testing Device (model PM001), sold separately. The cards alone cannot produce a result. If you do not already own a Mini Dock reader, please order one alongside the cards.

The Pluslife Handyvet SARS-CoV-2 Nucleic Acid Test Card is designed for use with feline (cat) and canine (dog) nasal swab samples.

A nasal swab from the animal, collected using the disposable sampling swabs supplied with the kit. The manufacturer’s instructions describe wiping the animal’s nasal secretions five to six times with the swab.

Positive results are reported in approximately 15 minutes. Negative results are confirmed within 35 minutes.

The manufacturer specifies a Limit of Detection of 400 copies/mL. The test detects two SARS-CoV-2 gene targets — the N gene and the ORF1ab gene — using the same dual-target approach as laboratory RT-PCR.

According to the manufacturer’s specificity testing, the kit does not cross-react with common respiratory pathogens of cats and dogs, including canine herpesvirus, canine pneumovirus, canine adenovirus 2, canine distemper virus, canine parainfluenza virus, feline calicivirus, feline herpesvirus 1, Chlamydophila felis, Mycoplasma cynos, Mycoplasma felis, and Bordetella bronchiseptica.

Store at 2°C to 28°C. The shelf life is 13 months from the date of manufacture, with the production and expiry dates printed on the outer packaging. Avoid excessively high storage temperatures and direct sunlight. If kits have been stored at lower temperatures, return them to room temperature before opening to avoid moisture condensation.

The manufacturer specifies an ambient operating temperature of 15°C to 28°C.

No. Each test card is a single-use closed cartridge. After use, dispose of the card and consumables in the supplied waste bag in accordance with local biohazard disposal regulations.
