The Savage A41 is the digital-interface successor to the Savage A40. The A41 adds a digital push-button control panel with multi-colour LED feedback (the A40 uses analogue dials inside the shell) and an extended shade 8-13 range (the A40 is 9-13). The two are otherwise mechanically similar, with the same headgear and air-fed shroud. The A41 Air is the air-fed version, prepared for direct connection to the ESAB EPR-X1.1 PAPR.

Yes. The ESAB Savage A41 Air welding helmet paired with the ESAB EPR-X1.1 PAPR, part number 0700500920, is certified to EN 12941:2023 class TH3 P — the highest assigned protection class for loose-fitting powered air-purifying respirators. Certification is system-level: the helmet, PAPR and supplied hose are tested together.

The EPR-X1.1 Li-ion battery delivers up to 10 hours at the lowest 170 L/min airflow setting. Runtime is shorter at the 190 or 210 L/min settings, and as the P3 filter and pre-filter load with welding particulate. Audio, visual and vibration alarms warn of low battery and low airflow.

Yes. The EPR-X1.1 PAPR is back-compatible with the older Savage A40 Air and Sentinel A50 Air helmets. The breathing-hose connector and air-shroud interface are common across the A40-air-fed generation, the Savage A41 Air and the Sentinel A60 Air.

Recommended spares: the P3 main filter, pre-filter and replaceable spark arrestor for the EPR-X1.1, plus outer and inner cover lenses and a CR2450 battery for the Savage A41. The helmet’s ADF is integral; replaceable helmet spares include the ADF cradle 0700000418, headgear with air duct 0700500404, sweat band 0700000414 and face seal 0700500405.
