Home / Powered Air Respirators / 3M Versaflo M-407 Respiratory Helmet with TR-619UK Powered Air Turbo PAPR Kit
What is included in this Versaflo M-407 + TR-619UK kit? +
The kit pairs the 3M Versaflo M-407 flame-resistant respiratory helmet with the TR-619UK powered air turbo starter kit. You receive the M-407 headtop (flame-resistant shroud, coated polycarbonate visor and adjustable suspension), the TR-602E turbo unit, a TR-6310E A2P3 combined filter, TR-6300FC filter cover, 10× TR-6600 pre-filters, 2× TR-662 spark arrestors, a TR-632 high-capacity battery, TR-641UK single-station charger (UK plug), easy-clean belt and breathing tube. It is ready to assemble and wear.
What level of protection does this kit provide? +
Used together, the M-407 headtop and TR-602E turbo deliver EN 12941 TH3 respiratory protection — the highest classification for a powered-air headtop system. Fitted with the TR-6310E combined filter it protects against particulates (P3 — fine dusts, mists and metal fume) and organic vapours to gas class A2, up to the workplace exposure limit. The helmet also provides integrated head protection and EN 166 eye and face protection through its coated polycarbonate visor.
Is the M-407 headtop suitable for foundry, smelting and welding work? +
Yes. The M-407 is the flame-resistant member of the Versaflo M-400 helmet range, with a shroud and faceseal rated for applications involving hot particles. That makes it the correct Versaflo headtop for foundries, smelting, welding and thermal cutting, where sparks and hot spatter would damage a standard shroud. For purely dusty or spray applications the M-306 or M-307 headtops are lighter alternatives.
How long does the battery last, and how long does it take to charge? +
The kit ships with the TR-632 high-capacity lithium-ion battery, which runs the turbo for up to 19 hours when used with a particle filter (typically 9.5–19 hours depending on flow setting, filter and headtop). A full charge from flat takes under 4.5 hours in the TR-641UK single-station charger. The turbo display shows remaining battery charge and filter loading, and an LED on the battery confirms charge status.
Is this kit intrinsically safe (ATEX) for explosive atmospheres? +
No. The TR-619UK is the standard industrial powered air turbo. For use in potentially explosive atmospheres (Zone 1/21 or Zone 2/22 requiring ATEX certification), select the 3M Versaflo TR-819E intrinsically safe turbo, which we also supply. The M-407 headtop is common to both systems.
Can I swap the filter, battery or headtop later? +
Yes — the Versaflo platform is modular. The TR-602E turbo accepts six filter options (particle, A2P gas and others), and the TR-632 battery, TR-641UK charger, belt and breathing tube are interchangeable across the TR-600 range. The headtop can be swapped to any Versaflo M-series or S-series headtop, or a Speedglas 9100 Air or 9100 MP welding headtop, using the appropriate breathing tube.
Is this a genuine 3M product, and is it certified? +
Yes. Both the M-407 headtop and the TR-619UK starter kit are genuine 3M Versaflo products, CE marked and type-approved under EN 12941. Full declarations of conformity and user instructions are provided in the Technical Documents tab. Replacement filters, batteries and spares are available separately on the store.

3M Versaflo M-407 Respiratory Helmet with TR-619UK Powered Air Turbo PAPR Kit
A complete, ready-to-use powered air purifying respirator (PAPR) system from 3M, pairing the flame-resistant Versaflo M-407 respiratory helmet with the high-durability Versaflo TR-619UK powered air turbo starter kit. Together they deliver EN 12941 TH3 respiratory protection — the highest classification available for a powered-air headtop system — with integrated head, eye and face protection for heavy industry, foundries, smelting, welding and metal fabrication.
The M-407 is the flame-resistant member of the Versaflo M-400 helmet range, engineered for applications involving hot particles. Its shroud and coated polycarbonate visor combine respiratory, head and eye/face protection in a single 1196 g unit. Driven by the TR-602E turbo’s regulated airflow, A2P3 combined filter and high-capacity battery, this kit provides all-day protection against fine dusts, mists, metal fume and organic vapours — with none of the breathing resistance of a conventional mask.

Applications
Engineered for heavy-industry respiratory protection where a flame-resistant headtop is required: foundries, smelting, welding and thermal cutting, metal fabrication, grinding and buffing, demolition, and pharmaceutical or chemical handling. The A2P3 filter suits environments carrying fine dusts, metal fume, mists and organic vapours within the workplace exposure limit.
Compatibility
The M-407 headtop and TR-602E turbo use the standard 3M Versaflo interface — the breathing tube, filters, battery and belt are interchangeable across the Versaflo TR-600 series and M-400 range, and replacement parts are available separately. See the Versaflo M-Series User Guide for fitting, cleaning and storage guidance.
This TR-619UK kit is the standard industrial version and is not intrinsically safe. For ATEX-rated or potentially explosive atmospheres, use the 3M Versaflo TR-819E intrinsically safe turbo, available separately.
