The 3M PF-600E-ASB-FF-603 is a powered air respirator kit designed by 3M for asbestos-removal applications. It combines the PF-602E-ASB powered air turbo with the FF-603 full facepiece and approved P3 particulate filtration. Final suitability for licensed or notifiable asbestos work must be confirmed by the duty holder or competent person as part of the site risk assessment, method statement, face-fit programme and current 3M user instructions.

The kit includes the 3M PF-602E-ASB powered air turbo, FF-603 full facepiece in Medium/Large, P3 particulate filters, pre-filter holder, SC-BT-56-ASB breathing tube, PF-653 filter port caps, SC-327 waist belt, PF-972 airflow indicator and PF-641E battery charger. It is supplied as a ready kit for asbestos and other high-hazard particulate applications.

For this PF-602E-ASB powered air turbo with the FF-600 Series full facepiece, 3M’s UK product information states that the system is approved with the 3M DT-1135E P3 particulate filter. Do not substitute gas or combination filters such as DT-4045E for this exact kit unless current 3M documentation and the site risk assessment confirm that configuration is approved for the task.

3M’s PF-602E-ASB technical datasheet states that battery operating time is at least 4.5 hours, depending on the filter and facepiece combination, filter loading, charge condition, battery age, temperature and work rate. The turbo includes audible and visual warnings for low battery or insufficient airflow.

Yes. The FF-603 is a tight-fitting full face respirator, so the wearer must be clean-shaven where the seal contacts the face and must pass an appropriate face-fit test before use. It should be selected, fitted, maintained and used only by trained users following the current 3M user instructions and the employer’s respiratory-protection programme.

3M states that the PF-602E-ASB is suitable for cleaning by showering or water spray to IP65 when the correct filters or decontamination plugs are fitted in the filter ports and the hose or hose-port plug is fitted. Always follow the current 3M cleaning, decontamination and inspection instructions before re-use.
